Electric Vehicles (EVs) aren’t new to the logistics and trucking industry, but many fleets across the U.S. still rely on gas-powered semi trucks. Tesla is looking to change that, with its new semi factory in Sparks, Nevada. The company announced the official start of production on September 24, nine years after the first EV truck was revealed.
FreightWaves’ Adam Wingfield took one of the Tesla semis for a test run and was impressed with the vehicle’s power, acceleration, and ride quality. He also gave a thumbs up to the truck’s braking design, which could potentially reduce maintenance costs for brakes and repairs.
