Brian recently chatted with the writers at Sales & Marketing Ideas, a niche magazine for the housing industry published by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Brian is an MIRM and served as the 2012 chairman of NAHB’s National Institute of Residential Marketing. In the July/August article “What is Internet Marketing, Really?” Brian shared his strategies for creating an Internet marketing game plan that delivers solid results. Here’s an excerpt:

What are the essential elements of a comprehensive Internet marketing program?

Brian: The essential elements include:

  • A professionally-designed and built website that incorporates some sort of data collection methodology that will convert leads into customers.
  • SEO or SEM, which require that you first understand and optimize proper keywords.
  • Mobile marketing, because as research has shown, buyers are now visiting your site via mobile. Make sure to use responsive web design techniques or simply build a second mobile site that fits the screens.
